What to expect after hydroseeding

At first, the sprayed area should look like an even blanket over the soil. Keep that surface consistently moist without creating runoff or puddles. Germination can look uneven at first because the seed mix may include varieties with different germination times and because sun, shade and soil temperature vary across a yard — something an experienced East Tennessee hydroseeding contractor plans for from day one.

• Limit foot traffic while the soil is soft and seedlings are small.
• Do not let the surface repeatedly dry out during early germination.
• Wait until the new grass is established enough to handle mower traffic, then use a sharp blade and remove no more than one-third of the blade at once.
